Von CMedia darf man nichts mehr erwarten; man soll sich an den Motherboardhersteller wenden:
"There have been many inquiries about Vista support for the onboard audio solutions, and this post is an attempt to clarify the Vista driver situation.
For AC'97 chips, the configuration of the audio codec, along with the Southbridge chip used and the way it is configured, is done by the motherboard manufacturer. It is impossible for C-Media to support each different implementation of these codecs with this high degree of variability.
Because of these considerations, there are no plans for a generic AC'97 Vista driver release. C-Media has released AC'97 Vista drivers to the motherboard manufacturers that have requested them (for their specific motherboard configurations), so please contact your motherboard maker to see if they have a Vista driver available for your AC'97 motherboard.
The 9880 is a slightly different case. Because it is a High Definition Audio codec, it is fully compatible with the Microsoft UAA class driver that is already included in Vista. This driver will be loaded automatically when you install Vista on your PC.
If the 9880 is not recognized as an HDA codec on your PC, you may require a BIOS update from your motherboard maker. Since each 9880 motherboard is configured by the manufacturer, contact your motherboard manufacturer for the BIOS update and instructions on proceeding.
There are no plans for a generic 9880 Vista driver at this time, although some people have had success installing the Windows XP drivers on Vista (see the relevant forum posts).
Here are a few links to major motherboard manufacturers' support sites, where you can find driver and BIOS updates for your board:

Das wars dann wohl!
