Adium, der kostenlose Instant-Messenger mit der Ente, unterstützt alle gängigen Messenger-Protokolle: AOL Instant Messenger, ICQ, MSN Live Messenger, Jabber, Google Talk, Yahoo! Messenger, Bonjour/iChat, MySpace IM, Lotus Sametime, Novell Groupwise, QQ und Gadu-Gadu. Um die aktuelle Version benutzen können, benötigen Sie mindestens Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger).
